World-Class Refining
in the Heart of Africa
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals is located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria. With a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, it is the largest refinery in Africa, the 7th largest in the world, and the largest single-train refinery ever built.
The refinery processes a wide range of crude oils and produces Euro-V quality diesel, aviation fuel (jet fuel), premium motor spirit (petrol/gasoline), polypropylene and other petrochemicals. Its Nelson Complexity Index of 10.5 surpasses the US average of 9.5 and the European average of 6.5.
Since commencing commercial operations in January 2024 and reaching full capacity in February 2026, the refinery has fundamentally transformed Nigeria's fuel import dependency, turning Africa's most populous nation into a net exporter of refined petroleum products.
